At the heart of Duresta is the 'English Country House' style. This style is universally appreciated for its essentially 'Comfortable' character, one where the formal and very grand can sit beautifully alongside the casual, plain and simple. An ingredient which must be present in each element however is high quality. Many of the models including the two shcown here were inspired by original pieces and design details found in the collections of the National Trust. Duresta holds a unique licence to reproduce pieces from collections found in its historic houses.

The frame of upholstery represents nothing less than the skeleton of the design. Just as a beautiful face must have 'Good bones', so it is with furniture. The frame, if it is made correctly, enables the upholsterer to create something of lasting quality. For that essential 'Rightness' of appearance a frame must be constructed appropriately.
